Getting Started : Season Road Maps

Transcript

Hello, and welcome to Insight CoachPro. We’re going to talk about how to get started using the Athlete Views, and specifically the Season Road Map. Once you have a few athletes and their races loaded into the Central Dashboard, it’s time to start diving into the details for an athlete.

When we first get to Beth’s Season Road Map page, there’s not much here because we haven’t created any roadmaps for her yet. Before we set up Beth’s first Season Road Map, we’re going to check her Workout Settings. Workout Settings reflect which columns are shown in both the Season Road Map and the Training Plan. And here, because, Because we set up Beth as a triathlete, she’s defaulted to having swims, bikes, and runs. So that’s going to work out fine for us.

Now we’re ready to add Beth’s first Road Map. We’re going to have it start at the end of this year and go through race day, which you can conveniently see here in the races list. Adding a Road Map automatically adds the weeks involved in that Road Map.

You can go through and enter the Road Map information manually or you can use our Auto-Populate function to draft the Season Road Map for you. Decide:

  • which weeks you would like included in the draft,
  • which pieces of information,
  • enter the start distances and durations for your athlete as well as the peak week distances and durations for your athlete,
  • determine your preferred cycle length, whether it’s okay to vary this during the plan based on the the number of total weeks,
  • the number of peak weeks,
  • as well as the number of taper weeks, which do include race week.

And then the Road Map is drafted for you. You can go in and make any changes that you think are appropriate and then be sure to save the Road Map.

This Road Map was drafted using the athlete’s total volume for each training week. You can also draft based on the longest workout for each sport in a training week. You can draft using both metrics if that feels better for you. Once you’re happy with the plan, you can create a printable view. If you save this as a PDF, you can share it with your athlete.

And with that, you’re ready to start drafting Season Road Map for your athletes.
